Naturopathy
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of primary health care that uses natural therapies and substances to promote wellness and treat disease. The roots of modern naturopathic medicine lie with "nature cure," a practice of treating individuals with natural agents (herbs, hydrotherapy and proper nutrition) that began in 19th century Europe. Over time homeopathy, acupuncture, massage therapy, counselling and other forms of bodywork were added to create the eclectic therapies of today’s Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Ritcey, B.Sc, N.D. has a special interest in Naturopathic Bodywork, to help patients with arthritis, acute & chronic neck and back pain, muscle tension and stress relief. Naturopathic Bodywork may include:
Naturopathic Massage
Naturopathic Massage is a blend of therapeutic Swedish massage combined with acupressure points, trigger point therapy, cupping, infrared heat and hot stones.
Herbal Salves, Lotions and Oils
Use of plants for healing dates back to the beginning of civilization and is the foundation of modern pharmacology. Plant substances from around the world are used for their healing effects. We support local companies and herbalists that produce all natural skin care products by the in-office use of their unique formulas as part of your treatment.
