Dr. Susan Ritcey, BSc, ND

Dr. Susan Ritcey was born and raised in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. She is a graduate of Acadia University and the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. She returned to the valley in 1996, and now lives in Kentville where she has been practicing Naturopathic medicine for over eighteen years.

Dr. Ritcey is a member of the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. She is a busy mom of two athletically active kids involved in hockey, soccer, basketball, et cetera. She enjoys playing soccer, reading and gardening.

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of primary health care that uses natural therapies and substances to promote wellness and treat disease. The roots of modern naturopathic medicine lie with "nature cure," a practice of treating individuals with natural agents (herbs, hydrotherapy and proper nutrition) that began in 19th century Europe. Over time homeopathy, acupuncture, massage therapy, counselling and other forms of bodywork were added to create the eclectic therapies of today’s Naturopathic Medicine.
